Professional Support
Professional Support Referral
The Professional Support Team offer a confidential, neutral, safe space in which postgraduate doctors, dentists or public health practitioners in training (PGDiTs) can explore any challenges they are facing and help them to access the right support and guidance, based on their individual needs.
Any PGDiT in Yorkshire and Humber can submit a self-referral to access help from the Professional Support Team. Your trainer can also submit a referral on your behalf, subject to your consent
Access to Coaching
The Deanery coaching programme is open to all Yorkshire and Humber postgraduate doctors and dentists in training, SAS doctors, and Senior Educators. Deanery employees within Training Programme Management are also eligible to access the programme.
Coaching is a conversational approach that provides you with time for you to think. Your coach will support you, and challenge you, if necessary, to help you reach a conclusion that is helpful and meaningful to you.

Learner Support & Faculty Development: YH LSFD - Course list
This includes Leadership and Management courses, Returning to Work, Managing Imposter syndrome, Enhancing Confidence, Managing Stress and Improving Self-care, Train the Trainer, Patient Safety, Supporting Neurodiversity, Interpersonal communication and more.
There are also courses for becoming an Educational Supervisor, Overcoming Unhealthy Perfectionism, Compassionate Leadership and Emotional Intelligence, Coaching and Mentoring, and Transforming your leadership.
