START: Specialty Trainee Anaesthetic Regional Teaching

Twice‑monthly sessions alternate between Tuesday mornings and Wednesday afternoons, with the option to attend at Castle Hill Hospital, Hull Royal Infirmary, or online via Teams. The programme is open to trainees at any level, who are welcome to join or present. Teaching sessions are organised into weekly themes and cover a breadth of both Primary and Final FRCA topics, specialist interest areas, and guideline updates. The sessions are intended to support exam preparation, clinical knowledge, and CPD. For Hull attendees tea/coffee and lunches are provided. Leeds Friday Afternoon Teaching

A fixture for over 25 years (we think), Leeds Friday Afternoon Teaching provides teaching on a diverse range of topics every week. Available in person for those on placement at LTHT and vitually for trainees around the region.

Yorkshire Difficult Airway Workshop (YDAW) is an annual course (usually September) aiming to refresh and update skills in managing difficult airway, and to provide practical hands on experience in techniques outlined in the DAS guidelines.

The East Yorkshire Difficult Airway Course is designed for post FRCA trainees. On this study day, you will you cover interactive case based discussions, workshops on
advanced airway skills and simulation based scenarios

Difficult airway CBD Virtual Teaching is also aimed at Stage 2/3 trainees - check out the Calendar for upcoming dates.

Airway

Simulated Paediatric Emergency Care Scenarios (SPECS) Course in Hull is a multi-disciplinary, multiprofessional course aimed at
healthcare personnel who respond to emergency bleeps. There is also SAFE Paediatrics Yorkshire in Hull.

In addition, there is also Managing Emergencies in Paediatric Anaesthesia (MEPA) in Hull. MEPA aims to give the opportunity to develop management strategies for emergencies in paediatrics anaesthesia using high fidelity simulation.

There is also the Neonatal Airway Training (NAT) Course for those interested in paediatric anaesthesia

Paediatrics

EPIC 2: Enhanced Preparation for Intensive Care Medicine. EPIC 2 is aimed at Stage 2 Anaesthetics training working towards their Stage 2 ICM HALO - a full day of more advanced ICM topics.

There are also the Leeds and Sheffield Major Trauma Courses for Stage 2 trainees which is great for further Trauma experience. Make sure to sign-up!

There is also the Sheffield Children’s Advanced Trauma Course (CAT) which is a day on the essentials of how to manage and lead in major/polytrauma in children.

ICM & Trauma

MYRAG is an ultrasound guided regional anaesthesia course in Mid Yorkshire. Harrogate Regional Anaesthesia Course (HRAC) is best suited for Stage 1 or 2. There is also Hull Ultrasound Master course (HUM)

The Obstetric Advanced Anaesthesia Simulation Training of Yorkshire (TOAASTY): This course is suitable for consultant
anaesthetists (with OR without obstetric sessions), SAS doctors and senior trainees with an interest in obstetric anaesthesia.

PROMPT: PRactical Obstetric Multi-Professional Training provides training for maternity units: helping midwives, obstetricians and anaesthetists be safer and more effective
