Regional Teaching Programmes
YAIRN Advanced, START/CART and YAIRN ICM Regional teaching are the established regional teaching programmes. These are great opportunities to network with your peers and stay up-to-date with your knowledge. The aim of the programmes are to cover areas of the curriculum that are more difficult to obtain. They are not exam revision days.
YAIRN Advanced is for East and West Yorkshire Trainees who are ST4+ or post primary CT2+ (will need permission from your college tutors to attend YAIRN Advanced days). All ST4+ trainees are expected to attend. Teaching days run every 2/3 months.
YAIRN ICM Regional Teaching is for residents on the ICM training programme. All trainees are expected to attend
START & CART is the South Yorkshire based teaching programme which runs monthly for 1/2 days.
Pan-deanery teaching is logistically too difficult, but for more specialist topics we will aim to make sessions accessible by all

START: Specialty Trainee Anaesthetic Regional Teaching
START programme for August 2025 - January 2025 is now live.
All sessions are best attended in person, but if you're on-call and would like to
attend virtually, please ask for an MS teams link.
Sessions will be held in Sheffield, either at RHH or NGH, and include an opportunity to meet colleagues over lunch and discuss training issues.
Please forward future topic ideas and questions to andrew.ford3@nhs.net
For more teaching sessions, there is also:
Sheffield Cardiothoracic Intensive Care and Anaesthesia teaching: monthly teaching both in person and virtually. Please see school calender for dates and links to teams meetings
